It isn't a Peace Movement that we need, it is a NEW CIVIL RIGHTS movement.
The Bush Regime is going to take up where the Reagan Coup left off. I am
less concerned about the Taliban right now than Ashcroft, Bush and the new
Executive Military Tribunals. Recall that this is a governor who
never/rarely saw an execution appeal that couldn't be flushed into the sewer
with no regrets. The US Supreme Court Gang of Five will in all probability
rubber stamp this operation, extending the definition established during
WWII by FDR (and a Supreme Court even more conservative than this one.) Of
course, this is why the Gang of Five was hired in the first place. That-and
to ensure the "vindication" of Ms. Stop-me-before-I-add-more-eye-shadow
Harris. How much of the first ten Amendments the Bush Monarchy can plaster
over with war hysteria will be interesting to see. Bin Laden himself
couldn't do a better job of undermining our Constitutional freedoms.
Have a nice day.
