A few observations on how this is affecting Muslims:
My wife has a quasi business/friendship with a Muslim lady here, she was
relating to us a story about a friend of hers who is a young Muslin lady and
a relatively new immigrant. The young lady was very worried that Americans
would attack her or even try and kill her in retaliation. My wife's friend
assured her that it wouldn't happen. But the young lady was still worried
and opined that maybe she should change her religion and become a Christian.
This so enraged the friend that the two are now not speaking to each other -
a friendship broken. The racial/religious undertones of this conflict are
and will do a lot of damage. The two Muslim ladies are from Indonesia and
look just like the rest of the Orientals here.

Go to your favorite restaurant - don't let this scare you or you will be
under the influence of the voices of intolerance. Ask them how this is
affecting their country - get a dialog going. Enjoy your dinner. Take
Fontaine with you.

Jaxon:
I don't think that you are a racist but your Jamie Lee story may reveal some
insensitivity on the issue - words hurt as you are experiencing. Put the
mind in gear before opening the mouth.
