The BBC said that about the gun culture in Kabul, not me. However, although 
it is true that we have the army, the cops and the NRA toting
weapons around, and that it's really way too easy to buy one here (last 
night I checked out what looked like 22 revolvers at Walmart-- only $39,  
very good for a stick-up), I think what BBC news was talking about was a 
pure gun climate, where people of all ages tote machine guns openly, where 
young kids who don't know how to read and write  can take apart and 
reassemble a bazooka. I don't think I would want to be in a ground assault 
against these guys!
