[Austin-ghetto-list] USA through other eyes

Patrick Buchanan, sadly, falls into the same dank basement of xenophobic
anti-everybody beliefs that too many Scots/Irish Americans (particularly of
the Catolico persuasion) are guilty of. As for precedents, let us not
forget about the late and utterly unlamented Father Coughlin (another
notorius, anti-semitic Mick of yesteryear.) who was avidly pro Hitler right
up to December 2, 1941. Or for that matter, JFK's father, Ambassador to
Ireland and happy visitor to Hitler-land prior to WWII. (As I recall, he
was recalled and exiled to Florida for the duration of the conflict. Really
wanted a son in the White House as an act of revenge, I think.)
I am proud of much of my Irish (and Scottish) ancestry, but NOT on this
count.
Wayne
Say, what has happened to that sad, sycophantic Buckley clone, M. Stanton
Evans? Hopefully, dead.

Glad you asked. Pat's position is that...nudge, nudge, wink, wink...
its the jews fault whenever and whatever. He is sly about this but
not so sly that even William Buckley in the National Review conceded
that Pat was a jew hater by way of explaining why Buchanan was
not welcome to publish in the National Review any more.
Pat Buchanan was raised in a strict Catholic household (He is not
Irish, but Scotish in ancestry). According to Pat, his father's
greatest political hero was General Franco of Spain and is his
also. After all did not Franco save Spain from the Reds?
Buchanan's anti-Israeli (read "anti-Jew") attitude is also that
of the Wall Street Journal and not just recently. Like I said,
dude, read the stuff you forward before forwarding it. I am not
going to apologize for reading what you forwarded and
understanding the author's viewpoint. Since you forwarded
it with approval -- or why else would you forward it? -- one
can only assume that you agree with it.
