Well, I am guilty of one of my many gross generalizations, Jon and thanks
for pointing this out. When I was thinking about the Copts, I was actuallyl
thinking about Egyptians who are geographically, if not genetically, in the
Middle East. See, if I had just used ME, then this wouldn't have happened
and I wouldn't look so stupid. Oh well. Z's are, as you note Persian and
Persians, as my many Iranians friends have been quick to point out to me,
are NOT, repeat NOT, Arabs.

My apologies for any confusion my early morning errors may have caused.

Mea Culpa You All

Wayne

Wayne-- Vague pronoun reference? Are you asserting that many Arabs are C and
Zs, or that many Muslims are? The latter is not true, because Copts are a
very ancient Christian sect(I suppose you could find some in Saudia Arabia,
although I believe they are centerd in Egypt. One of my friend is an
African-American Copt who is currently considering an arranged marriage to a
lass from the "old country" whom he has never met.The bishop has been
putting on the pressure!
Zoroastrians, persecuted in modern times by Iranian Muslims, are sun-god
worshippers. I have a good friend who is a Zoroastrian from Northern Iran
(although he left when young to go to Cambridge and never came back).
