Peggy Underwood obit

Peggy Underwood, longtime Austin resident, passed away 
in her home March 17th, 2003, at the age of 60. She 
was born in Bowie, Texas, to Frank and June Underwood. 
She graduated from Bowie High and moved to Austin to 
attend college, then later law school, at the 
University of Texas. She lived and practiced law in 
Austin for over 35 years. She swam at Barton Springs 
pool almost daily. She is survived by her brother, 
Gregory Underwood; her children, Barton and Sally 
Brooks; her grandsons, Aidan and Liam Conner; four 
newphews, one niece and countless beloved friends. 
She will be sorely missed. An episcopal funeral 
will be held at the First Methodist Church in 
Bowie, Texas, on Friday, March 21st at 2:00 p.m. 
A memorial in Austin is planned. Memorials in her 
name may be made to the American Cancer Society 
or the Save Our Springs Alliance.
