Interesting subject, what?
On a recent trip to the Amazon, to Peru's Iquitos, a town of 300,000 tho it
feels like a village, where a few main rivers converge, there were several
anglo men who had moved there in part because the "women there drive him crazy"
as our white boat trip guide said of one, and a local white cafe owner married
to a local would agree. On the same river jaunt, visiting a jungle tribe
decked out to perform, one of our group of 4 took a breather from the indoors
performance to wait outside, where she noticed a couple coupling in an open air
house nearby. Guess they were taking advantage of the distraction of our
visit. Anyhow, I got the feeling, from the art and just observing, that sex
was just okay. And in Lima is a whole museum of pre-Columbian erotic pots. In
fact, they're quite common.
Having studied Freud in college, in fact using his perhaps twisted take to
interpret "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" for my senior project (and getting
it duly rejected and having to rewrite it in a more traditional if toothless
way) I probably had some help shedding some cultural brainwashing but have
since, especially post menopause, learned there's lots more in the big picture.
