the political correctness of Bush

Political correctness is so engrained in American culture now
that it includes Bush and his mad crewe.

It explains their view of Islam: it's a religion therefore it
is as good as any other religion.

Another of Bush's subconscious assumptions is that of
American meliorism, the belief that "it can/will get better"
or "there's a fix for everything". This is a false belief
just as Manicheanism is the false belief that evil is
regnant in human affairs.

American meliorism and evangelical Christianity are of
course inextricably intertwined, even though there are
many secular Americans who are subconscious believers
in meliorism.

Experts in Islamic culture/religion explain that unlike
Christianity, there is scriptural authority in the
Quran which exhorts to terrorism. For example:

     I will instill terror
Into the hearts of the Unbelievers:
     Smite ye above the necks
     And smite all their
     Finger-tips off them
           (Quran, Sura 8, verse 12)

Instructions followed very closely by the hijackers with
box cutters.

Actually there are similar remarks in the Old
Testament but happily not many take these instructions
literally.

So some pious Moslems (statistically many hundreds of
thousands of the billion point 5 Moslems) are very
dangerous, indeed walking timebombs.

So the notion of invading a Moslem Arab country to
make it over into a Western-style democracy (a form of
government which has never been seen in Arab countries)
and doing it not by proxy but by sending Infidel
soldiers to do it, is so crazy an idea that I didnt
believe it would happen (before it DID happen).

The notion that everything can be made better, the
notion that all cultures are equal making Iraq a
credible candidate for democratization are both
false; I am speaking of Meliorism and political
correctness. I hadnt realized that Bush too believes
politically correctly although it was known that he
was Evangelical thus a meliorist.

A corrolary here is that Iraq may become a worse
"festering sore" even than Viet Nam for America
given enough time and if the resisters resist more
and more conducting more and more successful attacks.

Bush can still get re-elected because voting Americans
are Meliorist enough and politically correct enough
to believe that the adventure of American forces
occupying a Moslem Arab country will somehow turn out
well. It doesn't pay to underestimate Rove.
