it is a remarkable explanation that was published
today in various newspapers worldwide.

ya dont get to hold on to power in the Middle East
for 30 plus years without having very good moves.

as forces massed on his borders, SH again claimed
he had no WMD (which was indeed the case as the UN
inspectors suspected), offered to accept 2000 FBI
officers on the ground to prove this, and spoke
of elections in 2 years to replace him.

he ran out of good moves, his correct move at that
point was to accept asylum in Belarus.

he mustard figured that America would be crazy to
occupy Iraq and that they weren't crazy. the
troops massed on his border should have made him
see that the massing of troops was NOT a feint to
make him lose his nerve. which is a not unreasonable
inference assuming non-craziness on the part of
the enemy.

SOOOOOOOO...

his crazy sons are dead, but he is very much alive
and apparently in a position to stay alive until
the Americans leave. he assumes that Bush will be
defeated next year and, in time, the Ba'athists
will retake power.

now, you tell me! isn't that a better life than exile
in Belarus?

on another subject:

why were the Dems in congress so craven as to sign
on to Bush's crazy adventure? they must be as stupid
as all getout not to know enough history to realize
that Americans occupying a major Arab country is
as crazy as all get out.

only Byrd of W. Virginia & Teddy Kennedy & Kucinich in
the House voted against it and a few others. (note to
self: look this up)

Dean by the way has pretty good moves. this week he
picked up some white Southern working class voters
for next year's election

12 months to go
