Well, you might as well know that I am a Clark supporter. I like Dean =
and I like Kerry and I like Edwards (probably as a VP) but it is my dumb =
view that Clark can capture more of the cross-over Republican, Southern =
and Patriotic Ass-hole vote than the other candidates. His being a =
general frightens me not in the least. Cheney and Ashcroft and =
Wolfowitz and Perle...not to mention Jeb the High Priest....scare the =
shit out of me. Clark does not. Bush cannot bluff him down, cannot =
question his patriotism, cannot question his "defend America" =
qualifications nor out think him in a free debate. He is articulate and =
energetic. =20
As we all remember, Bush had zero "foreign policy experience" when he =
ran for the office and he still doesn't have any. O'Neill got it right. =
HRC is going to be seen as "too much, too soon" by millions. I like =
her but I think the timing is wrong. She has all the vices and virtues =
of the professional politician, plus she is really, really smart (other =
than her choice of hubbies, of course.) I think she would, in fact, =
make a good President but her best shot is, in my amateur opinion, four =
years from now.

Carolyn and Connie,
Snatching the election away from Gore was the first example of going =
too far. There are no lengths too far for this pack of thugs. I think =
that the fact that no Democrat is on top now is a good sign. That means =
that the nation will at least pay attention as the race unfolds. I like =
Kerry, and Edwards, and could work for Dean, even though ideologically I =
favored Kucinich. It will be an interesting election year and that is =
the best we could hope for. Never underestimate the power of a sitting =
president to manipulate events to his favor, but that bright spot over =
the horizon, that peep of light, is Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.=20
Since I am acting co-ordinator for the HRCSN, her Support Network in =
Austin, which is still simply a fan club, I am signing people up for the =
five year membership at $10 in keeping hope alive for 2008 if Bush walks =
away with the election once more.

Gosh, Dean really did it to himself. that's all it takes, a =
little image flaw or foible. Famous disaster for a campaign, just like =
Nixon mopping sweat on live TV, and Dukakis' head inappropriately poking =
out of a military tank, or Trudeau annointed Gore as Prince Albert blah, =
blah. It all becomes very influential, and completely obscures the =
candidates' focus, qualifications and political sincerity. The press =
makes a big deal out of something like what Dean did, which is =
unfortunate because I thought that Dean was just doing what he should do =
to rally his hard-working troops. 'So what', I say, if he screams. But =
it's all over for him. Who's next? Will one day on TV, Kerry' =
appearance be little too pale like a 'death specter'? People like =
Letterman, Leno and Jon Stewart are good at picking up on something like =
that, and sometimes it really sticks in the public's minds, allowing =
them to quit listening! to anything the candidate has to say. 'muricans' =
are ninnies for the most part, looking for a simple 'handle', so they =
don't have to think too long. Just my 2 cents on this. I hate to say =
this, but I think we should be prepared with some sort of strategy to =
take back the country if we don't regain the presidency this year. =20
