There are legal reasons, primarily inheritance & estate settling & now, =
benefits that are significantly clearer with a "legal" marriage. This =
varies from state to state. Louisiana has a vastly different (read: =
Napoleanic Code) view of the rights of children for instance. (Much =

well, I'm not sure about that, but as one who has avoided matrimony, =
even after 15 years with current SO, I can't for the life of me =
understand why the homosexuals want so badly to get married. =
Partnerships work as well or better don't they?=20
I have thought, and can right now think of only one actual benefit =
of getting hitched, social security survivor benefits. What else? (not =
counting adoption or child custody which is irrelevant to many)
