<P>There is merit in what you say, but how will Kerry or anyone for that matter stop the avalanche from its present path? We are spending a great deal of money on Afganistan and Iraq and that money could be place in accounts to help cover the cost of SSI I suspose. But still that isn't the long term solution and it looks like to me that there isn't one? <BR><BR></P></DIV>

<DIV></DIV>>Greenspan's remarks yesterday were so egregious that
<DIV></DIV>>the possibility arises that he means to sabotage Bush's
<DIV></DIV>>campaign. It certainly seems like many voters will
<DIV></DIV>>have a pang of fear as they confront the disappearance
<DIV></DIV>>or diminution of their future Social Security payments.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>If they vote their pocketbook, which they usually do,
<DIV></DIV>>they will vote for the candidate who will reinstate
<DIV></DIV>>a higher tax rate on the wealthy. How could they not?
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>It is hard to believe that he would NOT anticipate
<DIV></DIV>>that his remarks would catch folks' attention in this
<DIV></DIV>>regard.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Only if he lives to write his memoirs will we find
<DIV></DIV>>out what he was really up to. Or perhaps his widow
<DIV></DIV>>to be, Andrea Mitchell the NBC reporter, will write
<DIV></DIV>>hers.
