<P>There is merit in what you say, but how will Kerry or anyone for that matter stop the avalanche from its present path? We are spending a great deal of money on Afganistan and Iraq and that money could be place in accounts to help cover the cost of SSI I suspose. But still that isn't the long term solution and it looks like to me that there isn't one? <BR><BR></P></DIV>

<DIV></DIV>&gt;Greenspan's remarks yesterday were so egregious that
<DIV></DIV>&gt;the possibility arises that he means to sabotage Bush's
<DIV></DIV>&gt;campaign. It certainly seems like many voters will
<DIV></DIV>&gt;have a pang of fear as they confront the disappearance
<DIV></DIV>&gt;or diminution of their future Social Security payments.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;If they vote their pocketbook, which they usually do,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;they will vote for the candidate who will reinstate
<DIV></DIV>&gt;a higher tax rate on the wealthy. How could they not?
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;It is hard to believe that he would NOT anticipate
<DIV></DIV>&gt;that his remarks would catch folks' attention in this
<DIV></DIV>&gt;regard.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Only if he lives to write his memoirs will we find
<DIV></DIV>&gt;out what he was really up to. Or perhaps his widow
<DIV></DIV>&gt;to be, Andrea Mitchell the NBC reporter, will write
<DIV></DIV>&gt;hers.

<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; I believe Mr. Greenspan just assured Kerry's election. Never have
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; liked the conniving little sack of dropping, never really believed he
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; has a grasp on the economy and its fluctuations. Glad to see Kerry
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; step up and challenge his logic. Sure, we need to keep the onerous tax
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; cuts in place or it might threaten the economy, or to be more
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; explicit, we need to protect the rich and fuck over those who need
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; their SSI to survive or prices may go up at the Mall.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; IT IS TIME FOR CLASS WAR!!!! THEY HAVE GONE TOO FAR!!!!
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; These bastards now believe that they can pull a fast one on the
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; millions of boomers who are approaching retirement and on those of us
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; who are collecting SSI as well (by changing the formula used to
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; calculate cost of living adjustments). How dare they! I think we
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; should begin by burning the suburbs and parking car bombs on Wall
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; Street and in the parking lots of banks. Anyone have Greenspan's
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; address? Where is Timothy McVey when we need him?
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; Just joking, of course, we don't really need Timothy, he left us his
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; technology.
