Frances. I agree with you to a degree. No "fast food" or "chain" =
restaurant is likely to respond to customer's requests for any change =
beyond tomatoes for potatoes. However, any "first class" =
restaurant...which doesn't necessarily mean four or five stars and $100 =
entrees will always make "substitutions" including reduced portions. =
Now, how many "thinking persons" restaurants are there in Austin these =
days?
Two? Three?
If the East Side Cafe is still in business, I would bet you a meal there =
that they would provide any portion you want, especially if you talk to =
the MD or the Owner. Most places want happy customers. Now. Are they =
going to reduce the price because you order less...hmmmm, probably not. =
But if it is the "taste" rather than the "volume" (ex. Denny's and most =
"Cafes"), then that shouldn't be a problem.
