Okay, Mike. I'll try to answer you as I go.

No, not Tina; Gayle, my youngest sister. She is a
Scientologist, and reincarnation is part of their
credo.

How do you know they're not!?

>that shows strong animus

No, it shows a philosophy that sees patterns of life
and death--a wheel that turns, taking us round and
round. There is no beginning and end, we are all one.
To assume animus on another's part is to possess it
oneself. Let everyone love everyone, regardless of
how horrible one is--or another--it really doesn't
matter, because what is, is, and we're all part of it,
together. You can choose who you want to hang with,
after all. Love your enemies. Hate breeds hate.
We're interdependently connected, nonetheless.
Humanity's ability to know tolerance and acceptance is
what makes him special. Why fight? Why not try to get
along? In spirit, everyone is pure. It's this
illusory world that makes us think it matters. We are
mere specks on a speck in a speck in the cosmic soup,
with a limited potential for greatness. And that
greatness includes transcendent leaps of
consciousness, as well as on a physical level, the
establishment of an endemic culture of nonviolent
nurturing/stewardship. Of this Earth and of our
fellow humans. Not war eternal, but a golden age. I
hate to see us still stuck in the pit, no sky in
sight.

Which view? That they are reincarnated SSers? How
should I know?! I don't have an opinion about it,
frankly. If it is true, it just means that we sure
are stuck on this back-&-forth trip where we never
really arrive anywhere. It's hell to get reborn with
the same souls over and over again, even if you switch
places every other lifetime. Re-enact the same
dramas, get karmic pay backs and have to flail through
yet another lifetime, making all the same mistakes.

Which people's? Highminded morality? Justified? I yam
because I yam, I hardly ever justify. If I did that
I'd be constantly running around in circles checking
my ass to see that I don't have one, hardly a
worthwhile endeavor.

Not really. I try not to fall into the blame, shame
and regret game. And resentment is something I'm
learning to leave behind--one big ego trip, food for a
devouring mind that likes to eat flies!! Statistics
don't really mean anything, do they? They're numbers.
Except that in this case, they're murdured humans.
This is the point, not how many. They are BOTH, Arabs
and Israelis, disturbing world peace. If I were a
conspiracist, I would say there is some boogie man
that wants to ensure discord between them. Are they
not, after all, of the same ethnic strain? Don't they
worship the same God? Hey, aren't we all, every last
one of us on this earth, made up of 99.9% the same
genetic material?!

As far as Osama bin Laden is concerned, I figure
that's something else. The hatred of the Muslims of
the U.S. can be directly drawn from the U.S.'s
confounded fucking with nations that aren't theirs
because they want this or that from them. Americans
(or shall I say the CIA) help install repressive
dictatorships and bring down ones they don't like and
as to human rights are outrageous hypocrites! As for
terrorism, the U.S. has very few excuses, considering
they set up the first terrorist training camps on
Qadafi's turf and have played footsie with all the
major bad guys in every country they ever tried to get
their wedge into. Just take, take take! What do they
leave behind? Rank consumerism! As Cadaobob says,
Mammon! And terrorists! Never democracy!

True for you's probably not the same as for the next
guy. The vector of perception and all. I am not a
racist, ethnicist, or an ageist, but I'm probably
still a bit of a sexist. I'm working on it. So don't
get all het up, Mike.
