That must have been Astrid von Goethe-Bechsteini, third Baronness of
Altoona.  She later became an advisor on nuclear proliferation to Hubert
Humphrey and Eldridge Cleaver.  When last seen she was flying in a westerly
direction across Santa Monica Bay in a home-made airplane.
