Old school thoughts about sex

Well, yes, confession has rather a cathartic effect, Jon. And I suppose =
that was the original wisdom in making it part of Catholic practice, the =
first step toward forgiveness and possible redemption. I have had the =
sad experience of seeng this become a virtual dementia by some with whom =
I have worked. Gag a minute.
But, issues of humor and joking around notwithstanding, my sex life is =
my business. The sex life of me and my wife, Honor, is our business, no =
one elses. To share this or that experience would be to let some third =
party become witness to that which is strictly between the two of us. =
Sexual bonding is part of mating, I suppose. =20
Further, I was definitely part of the "gentlemen never tell" generation. =
I never admitted to having sex with any person so as to retain the =
special intimacy that relationship entailed. In in the bad old days, a =
man could, as I am sure you recall, sow one's "wild oats" and society, =
esp. Texas society thought that was ok, normal and part of maturing. =
For women, on the other hand, any public knowledge of sexual acts could =
engender the cruelest and most hostile and antagonist behaviour that =
adolescent males of capable of. Hence, I kept my mouth shut. Besides, =
most of the time there was really nothing to tell anyway, but why risk =
some woman's reputation? Don't make many women friends that way and it =
is/was a sure way to screw up (no pun intended) a relationship. =
Therefore, no talk I.

his fascination about other people's sex lives, but I will defend him in =
that the agl was originally designed to reminisce about the sixties, and =
don't forget that sexual experimentation was a big part of that period. =
Most of us are well past our sexual prime, but if people wwant to talk =
about having a rare (or even "common" sex experience, I wouldn't want =
to repress that urge-- after all, isn't confession supposed to be good =
for the soul?
