I would hope some of you might have the time to read the
entire interview of Mikis Theodorakis in the link cited above.
Theodorakis is the composer of the music for Zorba the
Greek. His music was influenced by the so-called rebetika
style ballads sung in tavernas, a kind of folk music.
Theodorakis' view of the jews is a blend of admiration
and repugnance. He is correct surely in recognizing that
the conduct of Israel (the country) reflects the disaster
that befell the jews at the hands of Hitler and the Germans.
"Never again" is the basis of their policy.
That is why they have an atomic arsenal and the rockets
and bombers to deliver them. But this makes the gentiles
rage. Where is that lovable Fiddler on the Roof joo, warm
and fuzzy and HARMLESS?
The fiddler is gone and turned into the driver of an
armor-plated bulldozer as big as a two storey house.
