Jon Ford waxed eloquent thus:
> Mike--yes, you are right on this--- Sartre is a case in point-- when the
> Jews were down and out he and other European leftists supported them, and
> Sartre wrote about the evils of anti-semitism; later on , after Israel
> became a powerful state armed to the teeth, the Jews were demonized.
Here's

Last I looked Gerry Storm, Jim Baldauf, Roger Baker were subscribers
to this list. I was given to understand that you all were really into giving
it to the Israelis/joos over in Jim Strong's doppelgaenger ghetto list. If
your
argument is really right, I wish you would sit down and explain your view
to the other subscribers to this list.
Let's try for nuance though. The Israeli settlement movement in the West
Bank
after 1967 was a terrible idea, granted. But as even Theodorakis admits,
there
is no right of return of Palestinians to their former homes in Israel, no
more
than the 2 million Greeks who had to flee Turkey in the 1920s whose
ancestors had been living in Anatolia continuously since antiquity will ever
see their homes again. Or the 8 million Ostdeutsch Germans ditto who
had to flee Rumania, Poland, Czechoslovakia and elsewhere after 1945
--whose ancestors had been living there since the middle ages. And the
million or so dead Armenians that the Turks exterminated, they're not
going home either. As Hitler famously said "Who now remembers the
Armenians?"
