Freda and the ice storm

Mike-- That's a good story about the ice-storm. I'm sure Ramsey and Joann
got married, although I don't think Ramsey was really the marrying type--
none of his turned out too well, although both Joann and Fontaine, his other
ex- that I know, seem like they would be good companions for the long term.
Claude Allen was a long-time Civil rights activist in Austin, alright; I
remember him picketing the Texas Theater for integration when I was still a
high school kid. If he got a job at Antioch, I've sure he would have fit in
pretty well.
Talking about Tommy Hall, I was down in Santa Cruz today, where they have
more used record stores than you could shake a stick at; bought a twenty
song album ,"Absolutely the Best of the 13th Floor Elevators" on Fuel
Records. I'm sure Tommy Hall would be horrified by this release, which I
suspect no one in the band made a cent from. It also takes the songs out of
context, so it would be hard to obtain the "horizontal release" obtained by
listening to the original albums in the proper sequence. Still, a little
nostalgia for me as I used to own several of the original vinyls.
