Hmmm.
Looks just like all the rest of them to me. Looked the site over and he was
just another suited up pol saying the right things, smiling and kissing all
the babies. The Democrats need someone with a sharpness about them, someoen
who will galvanize the voters, a hispanic/white guy who is black and talks
like Humphrey Boagart, John Wayne and wears a white hat and is smart to
boot. Kinky wears a black hat and he is my choice hands down becasue he is
neither a Dem or a Elephant he's a maverick and we need more mavericks with
monkey wrenches to throw into the ENRON cogs.

>List activists,
>The Democrats For Texas MeetUp at Scholz Garten Wednesday evening had
the usual, reports, announcements, TX Rep. Strama, told some annecdotes
about the DNC meeting before he had to get back to his House legislative
duties. David Holmes was introduced, our Natl. Committeeman to the DNC from
Texas.
>
>But the surprise of the evening, for me, was a dynamic speaker, Chirs
Bell, a defeated Democratic congressman who got DeLay-ed, aka redistricted,
out of his Houston area constituency. He is first announced Democratic
candidate for Governor, and he is as impressive as any candidate I've seen
in a long long time.
>
>He made a quietly impassioned speech about what Gov. Perry had come out
of his office to say at a recent press conference: that it is not the
function of government to offer Hope. He took this and made Perry seem like
a rude Dickensonian Scrooge. He lamented that the Republicans are an
uncaring party who only seek to represent corporate interests and the
richest people in our society. By the end of his speech some 200 people in
attendance, everyone in the room, positively jumped to their feet in a
standing ovation that went on and on.
>
>He's gonna be one to watch--jumping in, off and running first, has
cache. He was accompanied by an entourage of a half dozen fresh, bright
young people with clipboards who quickly filled up pages of individuals who,
like me, were impressed by his obvious dedication, indeed, passion even. One
of his young people told me they were on their way next to a similar meeting
of YD's on campus. Former Congressman Bell generously took time to speak
personally with dozens of individuals magnetized by his obvious charisma,
including me. See the link below for more on this promising candidate.
