loquat bottom feeders

Actually Clark, I don't really know how to cook them or anything.  I just let the kids in the neighborhood eat them off the tree.  They like to pop them in their mouths fresh.  With a hundred pounds though, it could make you sick.  Anyway, I'll check out the cooking web sites for some ideas.

eat them right off the tree - if you can tell me what to do with the 
taro root and leaves.  I have a lot of it growing in my pond bog.  Mine 
is the pretty black (sort of purple really) -leafed variety.  Will it 
be edible, or do I need a particular kind of taro.
