There are many non-violent video games available to kids; it's up to parents 
to keep their kids away from the nasty ones (assuming they really "cause 
violent behavior, which I doubt). See the list I've attached below from a 
parent's group. I distrust statements like the one below from Charlie 
Loving-- if America has a culture of violence, is it the fault of video 
games or the fault of  the American war and NRA-style gun  culture 
generally? I'd say our youngsters get their "Pavlovian mind set" from 
watching the war in Iraq and its related paraphenalia on TV, more than  they 
get it from playing video games.
