If you love Bach, the BBC is broadcasting the entire
corpus of his work during the month of December.

I also recently discovered that the best French TV station,
owned by the government, is available in full screen mode
(assuming you have a broadband connection) at
http://www.publicsenat.fr/accueil/

The Bach curtesy of the BBC is the best Internet sound
I've heard since WKCR in New York broadcast a week of
Indian ragas 24/24 with the ragas played at the precise
time of day and night when they are supposed to be performed,
according to Indian tradition. On 9-11 their transmitter atop
the WTC was obliterated. WKCR is the student radio
station of Columbia University.

For just music without video, a dialup modem connection
is sufficient. If you live in an apartment house, I recommend
that you get a friend with a wireless equipped laptop in for
a visit. You may be pleasantly surprised to discover that you
are in the usable range of a number of unencrypted wireless
networks.
