Just got a note from T'other Wayne. Apparently he was better off than the doctor expected, got released just after lunch and is now at home. I find that good news and I am personally very happy.
Hope you continue to find good flicks. No such luck here in FR. This one might show up at small art house up in Manassas. We will be on the lookout. Understand the Gore flick is picking up rave notices everywhere. Maybe he should run again.

Subject: [AGL] Nobelity, the film...
Last night I went to Nobelity, a documentary film by Turk Pipkin, a man of many talents, the latest of which is film making. The film was premiered at SXSW and got well deserved enthusiastic reviews. He interviewed a half dozen or so Nobel peace prize winners, some of whom have died since the interview. It was a most uplifting experience even if the subject was ominously a discussion of the biggest problems facing the world today. The upshot was surprisingly optimistic. It was a rare exposure to the finest minds of our times, and something I would like to see again.
If I had more gelt I woulda bought a collector's DVD they were selling after the showing--instead I just bought a t-shirt to wear for my workouts at the "Y."
There is a special screening at the Wild Basin by reservation for $25 on Friday, April 21, with the film maker and again Sunday April 23rd. There is also a showing at the Unitarian church on Grover this weekend. It is worth the effort to get to see it.
