Aztlan.  Curious that Hispanics identify with bloody Aztec Imperialism over other native cultures. Or should they idenitfy with  Mexico the creation of Spain ?

  In a John Clay esprit d'escalier ending one of his songs, "aztlan, aztlan," I asked him what that was all about and he said that it has to do with a demographical revolution going on where indiginous people are re-taking-over the territory that Sam Houston and others won for North America, a spoils of war, and then re-populated with Europeans. At least that's the way I understood it. I think that is also the theme of the new book, 1491.
