a postscript to Frances' account of what the
Hispanic gentleman from Seguin said. He said
that not only were the descendants of Juan Seguin,
those living in present day Seguin, unaware or
not fully aware of the historical significance of their
ancestor, but that the different branches of the
family were feuding. I know virtually nothing of
Chicanismo but this, I believe, would be their
famous "invidia" or resentment towards one another.
The gentleman said further that by having them read
Jaxon's comic book on Juan Seguin, he felt that he
had succeeded to some extent in reconciling the
warring factions of the family. Just as the Hyde Park
Christian Church would have us all at peace with the
world in the love of Christ Jesus, so it was for the
Seguins in their collective readings of Jaxon's comic
book.
