Rory Stewart has written several editorials for the New York Times which are 
worth reading.
 "Places in between" is insightful, thanks for telling people they rad a bit of 
it online. The chapters are short and are constructed a bit like fiction. I 
enjoyed reading it.  The diary I sent around is a an early work and to me it 
shows the big difference between Iran and places like Afghanistan.  I think 
everyone will enjoy reading the Places in between which came out in May. I 
think the publishers didn't expect it to be such a big hit. to me it shows how 
desperate we are for some top notch insight in the mid-east and people have 
latched on to Stewart. Iran has had more contact with the West.  Rory has a 
first class brain and has received a super education and is using it.  I hope 
that he doesn't end of a bit like Lawrence, I think he is too smart and has had 
too much experience for that to happen.
  It is good advice to not lug a mule around with you to unknown villages in 
Iran.
