[AGL] Where to live? Where to visit?

The idea of the Northern winters is enough to make me never want to leave Texas. My friend Pat Holman says that you could freeze to death walking to a neighbor's house for about 6 months outta the year. He lives on the shores of Lake Erie in Pennsylvania. Not my kind of place to live--it was great to visit though.
  Best,
  Frances

You get over it. Sometimes good not to mention it, closet Texan.

Charlie is suggesting Mexico where in the gringo communities they speak
mostly English...a lot different than Scotland...not too far from home but
not cool unless you get way way up in the beautiful mountains. I get
headaches up there. One thing that is usually in fine print when describing
Mexico is that you can have slaves there--well, not exactly slaves, but
cheap manual labor...sometimes better than a "facility".

Subject: [AGL] Where to live?

All, or any, PLEASE add in your ideas. 1. going for health care—must
do. 2. Has climate like Ireland. 3. Hope to find mountains, rivers. 4.
Nestle into a cottage between sheep farms, or any rural setting, 5.
near small village 6. Only thing wrong with Ireland is cost of
living—beats San Fran & Miami, but that was mostly taken from a list of
cities. Does anyone know Wales, Scotland, or Northern English
countryside? Any where else English is spoken? All suggestions
welcome—NEVER another Texas summer!!!—though Texan I am.
Thanks, Michele
