Our judicial system is deeply flawed. People are declared guilty and convicted on flimsy evidence. Even if they are heinous criminals the death penalty is not appropriate for the State to do. It makes us no better than them who murder.
Come if you can, Wednesday or Saturday.
Best,
Frances

Subject: Execution Oct 25th; 7th Annual March to Stop Executions - Oct 28 in
Austin
Dear Frances, Gregory Summers is scheduled for execution in Texas on Wednesday, October 25. See the list of vigil sites on the right lower side of the TMN website. Urge Gov. Perry to Stop the Execution of Gregory Summers Petition for Gregory Summers The annual "March to Stop Executions" is this Saturday. Please make plans to come to Austin on Oct 28, 2006. We have a record number of more than 50 organizations sponsoring this year's march.
We are using this year's march to bring attention to the facts reported in the last two years that Texas has executed three innocent people. Family members of the three innocent people - Ruben Cantu, Carlos De Luna and Cameron Todd Willingham - will lead the march. They will deliver a letter to Governor Perry at the Governor's Mansion. The letter will contain suggestions for how to prevent other innocent people from being executed. Come stand with these courageous family members as they tell Perry outside the gates of the Governor's Mansion: "Stop Executions. Innocent People Have Been Executed. The System is Broken!" Please help us by donating Online to the Special March Account If you know of an organization that we could ask to be a sponsor of the march, let us know the name of the organization or ask them yourself if they would like to be a sponsor. See you on Oct 28!
