Michele,

We have one of our credit cards automatically
get paid out of the balance in a checking account. This
saves having to mail checks to individual companies.
We also have a debit card should we have the good
luck to travel to a foreign country and need to get
some local currency. Using a credit card to do this
will accrue an interest charge starting from the date
of the transaction. Debit cards, on the other hand,
have no interest charge since it is your own funds
that you are tapping. You will be paying 2% of
the sum for the bank to switch your dollars to
euros..

Just be sure you check the statements every
month so that you know that everything is kosher.
You have 90 days to challenge a credit card charge.

What do you mean go back to paper? Your
money is whizzing around digitally as it is but your
bank will send you a paper statement so you
can ikeep track.

The point is to spend it all and have the check
for your funeral bounce.

The two Internet banks I have accessed required
Internet Explorer; Firefox wouldnt work. I
assumed that all banks were doing that but
as Charlie and others are pointing out it just
ain't so. Or ain't so anymore. My experience
dates from when Firefox was just introduced
a couple of years ago.

Foxfire is working just fine. All my bank pages are encrypted. Do you
recommend I go back to paper?—I'm told that more is stolen from paper
by my bank and also Foxfire which tells me when/or not encptd. When I
go for medical stuff, my laptop will go too. Is that just as scary? Do
you recomend paying each acct at their site?  Tell me wise one,  mm
