For me (not for you) I gotta have a PC.
This is because i assembled my current computer
so i could sim Microsoft's Flight Simulator. i
called it playing Flight Simulator on an enthousiasts'
group and i got me ripped a new one.it turns out
the term of art is "simming". Flight Simulator is not
available for Macs.
This program now in its 10th iteration is
extraordinarily full featured. The realism is striking.
When flying the bigger ones it makes the heart speed
up. The noise of the jets changes of course as you
change the throttle setting.
I have been taking off in a 737 on the Lexington
Kentucky runway that the jerks flying the Delta
Embraer (regional jet) should have been on, instead
of taking off from the wrong runway, too short,
and killed 50. i am on the runway long enough to
take off from.
V1 is 140 knots. When you get to that speed,
you are committed to taking off. V2 is 156 knots
where you rotate and take off.
the learning curve for Flight Sim is daunting.
and you gotta have a PC with a fast chip and
fast video card.
