[AGL] engine running or engine off? youth wants to know

Gerry,

Are you saying that Ford and others have put
hexhead plugs somewhere on the side of the beast
and, with the engine off, can drain out and pump
in through 2 hoses which connect to these fittings?

So its just the ATF in the sump that gets replaced,
4 or 5 qts, not the 15 other qts that are in the torque
converter and the various pipings?

I was imagining them doing it through the dipstick
pipe with some magic machine.

Or does Jiffy Lube and others do it with the engine
running? Do this wrong and blow the transmission
immediately i should think.
