Vera Carmignani






Vera Katherine Carmignani Vera Katherine Carmignani of Sallisaw, Okla., died
Saturday, May 12, of lung cancer. She was born in Galveston in 1949, but
spent most of her life in Austin, where she studied art at the University of
Texas. After moving to Oklahoma, she earned a B.A. at Oklahoma A&S
University and taught art at Sallisaw High School. She is survived by her
son, Cori Alexander (21), her daughter (19), both of Sallisaw; her father,
Winston Bode and her brother, Todd Bode, both of Austin; and her sister,
Georgianne Bode Harms of Barrington, Ill. A memorial service will be held on
May 19 in Sallisaw, under the direction of Burns Funeral Home. Vera was the
daughter of the late Mary Jane Bode, who served as a Travis County
Representative in the Texas House of Representatives.?
