was i talking about the Internet?

on Harvard student radio right now (whrb.org)
the jazz theme is to play American jazz records
which were recorded in Paris.

so she is playing Mezz Mezzrow on saxaphone,
from the mid '50s recorded in Paris. the record
surface is scratchy but it gives us a window into the
secret history of jazz. Mezz Mezzrow, a jewish
jazz player, wasnt too good as a jazz player
but good enough to do gigs in Paris. he also
was everyone's dope dealer. there are letters
from Louis Armstrong in code about buying
more, Armstrong being a big fan of week.

and sure enough, he is okay plays the licks
competently, having never heard a Mezz
Mezzrow record.

still playing so hurry: www.whrb.org
