Well, first of all, there are three debates. I do hope that you are wrong too. I don't want to be a Pollyana about this, Mike, so this is my attitude. You've probably already read it from the MDS list, but what the hell:
  We can watch videos, blog, post to our lists, write letters to the editor all we want, but we will be preaching to the choir. These blogs will not change the mind of the millions of women who like Sarah Palin because she is "one of them" (I'm quoting some republican congresswoman I just saw on CNN). The numbers are real.  McCain's numbers are up. I think we are comforting ourselves by reading and watching all of this stuff and talking to each other - and it is addicting as hell. I will be the first to say, "Hello, I'm Fontaine and I am a political junkie".

  Somehow (and I am not sure how), we have to get every single person who is a squishy Obama supporter out to vote in Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada. And Florida and Michigan. EVERY ONE. The alternative is very scary.


Charlie Loving of "Deer Corn" gives us another dose of reality-I found it amusing:

  PALIN  appeals to the redneck guys and to the redneck gals. She shoots
  stuff, hasn't gotten fat as she aged, has all these stupid ideas that
  off the top of their heads the redneck likes. She is a religious
  fanatic and there are bunches of them out in the hinterlands. The
  soccer mom's can relate to her fairy tales and want to believe them.

  She lies like a dog. But she does inspire the guy in the pickup. They
  don't care if she lies. The guy at the feed store whispered to me, "I
  bet she is great in bed... heh heh heh." Sexist, yes, but these are
  guys that denounce porn and go home and watch it, as well as going to
  the topless clubs when they have a chance between trips to church.



I have been advised by my friends to stop watching so damn much CNN, and MSNBC.
