Yes, the cost of becoming educated continues to rise. That's why I sprung for the City Pass when I went to Chicago--roughly half price for a combined list of venues when bought in advance in a package at one time. I'm going to do this again in SF. It is a good deal and allows you to go when the Free-Tuesday crowd isn't there. Four venues have their Free day on the same day so you would have to stay four months to utilize this perk. Perhaps it is just a marketing tool to get people talking about the venues, whet the appetite and then get to collect the heavy fee when the Free day is missed or spoiled by overcrowding.Best,Frances

Sad about the cost of getting into the museum, really. SFMOMA is 15, seniors 
and teenagers are 9. They do have free first Tuesdays, half price Thursday 
nights.
