I thought I knew about prescription, and generic, markups but this reveals the shocking truth--the actual markups are astronomical. I get my drug prescriptions through Medicare and they are qute low. I think this information could fuel the single payer argument for the creation of a health care system that covers everyone. The bargaining power of the federal government is what is at stake in bringing health care costs down to size.

I, too, checked this out on snopes.  On the link page, there was a chart of the comparison prices, which I thought was much easier that the pics on the download.
