I have not been in Austin for thirty-odd years, but Harry keeps me posted. I WILL be in Austin sometime in November to visit him while my wife convenes at a veterinary conference in San Antone. I will dig up a couple of dates for the Austin columns, particularly a set of four called "1962." Try to remember a finer September.

>> Yes, I write a weekly blog called THE FLYING PIE. It started in 2010 as a way to stay in touch with about 35 friends, among them Pat Brown from Austin, one of my heroes. Readership over the years has risen to about 700, including Harry Edwards, another Austinite. Many of the earlier columns recalled life in early-sixties Austin. Today's editions contain a little bit of everything. Recent weeks have dealt with our travels to the Pacific Northwest and are illustrated by photos from the trip. THE FLYING PIE is published every Thursday by 1 p.m. You are welcome to use anything there which appeals to you. People can find us at bill.killeen094 at gmail.com. Good to hear from you. And relax, you're doing fine.

Casting one's musings further, would you be happy to let me virtually into your living room in light of the fact that you were a friend of someone who judged me and found me wanting? It is right that you honor the memory and the dislikes of your friend and it is not unheard of that one may inherit a hatred from another, never having laid eyes poisonally on the hated one. Sort of like the Hatfields and McCoys. Your call.
