Speaking of the unhappiness, we are #17 ranked among countries based on a
world happiness index. The Les-Miserables of the USA is behind the drug
dependence and the opioid death toll. Drug taking is all about escape from
a sorry reality. This was shown in studies of rats. Those in bare cages
without stimulation chose the opioid laced water over the pure water. When
the cages were enhanced with rat toys, companions and amusements for the
animals the pure water became the libation of choice. This was revealed in
a book by Johann Hari, "Lost Connections."
