Charlie,

Living in a gated apartment house where there have been no burglaries of 
residential units in the 30 years we have lived here, I don't believe I 
need a weapon to defend ourselves at the present time. Yes, there have 
been occasional break-ins of cars parked in our basement garage, but no 
residential burglaries. We are blessed.

But in case things got much much worse, I write to ask what specific 
weapon you would recommend that I buy (and train to use, of course)?
