Dear Mike,
your literary professionalism comes to bear here in Berlin.
I too remember well the music and antics of JJ-Walker.
Thanks for the additional links to him and his times.
Terlingua is on my mind. I was there for the ´74 Chili cook off.
Those were the times.
I left a halloween party on 29th with a 32nd * Mason (my Boss) rom TX HWY Dept printing on Mopac 35th
at midnight, his wife had brought him and we drove to Terlingua arriving Sat Morn at 10:00 costa miles.
Terlingua was covered with SUV´s. et other. 4000 people crowd The World Champ Chili Cookoff was just being judged.
My Mason Friend stayed with the car as I snapped my TopCon 35mm and got about 15 rolls of B/W
and some color slide film. The winner was on stage and there was a big crowd. Some great and non published shots
were made. The negs are here in Berlin. What an adventure. As every body left I made to near the local Airport.
Stopped fell asleep at the wheel (We parked on the side of the road to Alpine….. made it back OK next day……
What times and experiences…..
RIP JJW
Another of my great Texas experiences.
Keep it coming Mike
Thanks, hans
