[AGL] JFK Hit - another angle

For those few of us still interested in the ancient history of November 22,
I came across the following interview with a retired physician. For some
years now I have pursued an amateur interest in the medical profession and
follow several newsletters and blogs:

It was my 23rd birthday. I woke up at a pal's house in Kumamoto, Kyushu,
expecting to hear "Omedetou Gozaimasu" ("Happy Birthday" in Japanese) but
instead got a booby-wish of "Your President has been shot". My birthday is
actually on the 23rd but Japan is 9 hours earlier and a day later.

Another bit of humorous nostalgia. Around UT the joke was floating:

"Did you hear what the first official act of newly-inaugurated Vice
President Hubert Humphrey was? He extended an invitation to President
Johnson to accompany him on a motorcade through downtown Minneapolis."

I'm a-wavin' at y'all but the waves of the Pacific are in the way.
