Michael, just wanted to let you know that we have lost the great
Terrellita Maverick. Just a week ago she was bossing everybody around and
giving advice. Her decline was quite sudden so we're a bit Shocky. My sis
and sister-in-law and I are writing an obit and trying to do her justice.
It's a big loss. Thought you'd want to know.
P.S. Terry took me to California - my first trip to that wonderful state -
in 1983 where we stated at her son's house in Marin Co. We also camped out
in the Mendocino Forest and visited Anana Bliss the naked hippy lady who
lived in a ranch uphill from Lower Lake. She was 8 years older than me so
by my reckoning she died aged 95. We should all be so lucky. I could go on
all day with Terralita stories from when she was on the board of Laguna
Gloria.
She lived out her life in a kind of paradise, the remnants of the Maverick
real estate on a hill in NW San Antonio in a converted trolley car her
father Maury Maverick, ex-mayor of San Antonio and US Congressman had
hauled in. The compound was totally isolated from San Antonio. Great
birdwatching as the birds came flying over the hill.

Fontaine, please inform me about any planned memorial for Terralita and
will relay that info to our austin Ghetto list.
