hey everybody - 

we thought it'd be nice to offset all this consumerist christmas cheer
with a little rock music, so we booked a local holiday show with two of
our absolute favorite bands:

--- FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27th, 2002  7:30pm
--- OZMA with very special guests SMILE & ARLO
--- at THE GLASS HOUSE, 200 W Second St, Pomona CA
--- ALL AGES! Tickets $10-12 at G.H. box office (Ticketmaster should go
onsale soon as well)

so bring all your cousins that'll be in from out-of-town and we'll
promise to bring the rock (or at least bring smile and arlo who will
most definitely bring the rock).  

i'm writing from the venice, CA studio where we have spent the last
month laying down the tracks for our new record (ryen and pat are
downstairs ripping through the solo in "eponine" as we speak).  chris
fudurich has proved to be a pretty brilliant engineer/producer and we're
very excited about finally getting these songs out of our heads and
hopefully into yours.  yesterday my good friends ezra buchla and james
barry came in and added some viola and cello to several songs, which
really added a new dimension to the album, and tomorrow we've got a
session with a couple sax players to help beef up a song or two.   
we've got very limited time booked at the studio, which means we're kind
of scrambling to finish all the tracking.  hopefully this won't bring
the quality of the album down but rather add an urgency/spontaneity that
it wouldn't have otherwise had.

end of the old 1-9 (formerly metal song)
light years will burn (formerly tron song)
come home andrea

bad dogs
utsukushii shibuya
your name (formerly jennifer's song)
love me in the morning (formerly G song)

we're still not sure exactly what'll end up on the record, or exactly
what it'll be called, but that'll get figured out in time for a late
march release date.
