I had a very similar and heartbreaking experience with OPP and a lovely ram
I
lent for breeding.  You have summed up the situation perfectly.  I feel that
protecting our animals from very real disease has nothing to do with
camaraderie among breeders and promoting the breed.  We can promote these
wonderful animals and be friends with other breeders without jeopardizing
the
health of our sheep.  Our animals are completely dependent on us and our
efforts to keep them well and happy.  I only wish I had not learned this
fact
in the harsh school of experience!
