We have been having cold weather as well. Not as cold as some but colder
than others and colder than we are used to. A couple of my ewes lambed two
weeks ago, one St. Croix (hair sheep) and one Jacob with twins. I have kept
them "jugged" since the cold weather hit, they had been going out in the
pasture with everyone else but I am afraid that the ewes won't bring the
lambs in so I am keeping them inside.
These are my first "winter" lambs. What do the majority of you do? Should
I just leave them loose with the others or continue to keep them stalled?
Just in case any one asks, no the barn is not heated so the temperature
inside isn't much better than outside but they don't get the wind which can
blow up to 50 mph.
