Katherine, I don't know how old the lamb is , but a lamb needs protein to 
grow well.  He can get that from milk, grain, or good quality grass or hay.  
If your pasture is green and leafy with a good blend of grasses and legumes,  
he may get all he needs from that.   Did the vet check his teeth ?  If they 
are poorly aligned, he won't be able to graze effeciently.  (The vet must 
have also ruled out worms, coccidia, etc?)  Try feeding a sweet feed (16% or 
18% protein, with molasses) lambs like that.  Don't worry about water, if its 
available and fresh he'll take what he needs. Good luck !  Robin Casasanto
