[Jacob-list] Night Lights for Sheep

Someone told me long ago that hens only have so many eggs to lay in their
life. So by artificially extending their production through the use of
lights, you are in effect shortening their egg laying lives. This works
great if you are actually managing your layers and culling them as the
production goes down, but if you are like me, and not a big fan of stewing
hens you can just get a few more hens, still get plenty of eggs, and extend
the laying life of your hens, while still getting the same amount of eggs
per bird, just over a longer period of time. I have been lucky predator
wise so far, and am also not a big fan of night lights unless they are the
stars and the moon. I am hoping that between the fencing, the llama and the
dogs I can avoid any night lights, except the flashlight I use to check the
ewes before bed time. Most of my lambs were born in the early morning hours
just as the suon came up .
