Hi all,
I don't know how pure, but I have Hatch/Hardy stock that I believe to still be quite pure. I have not bred anything else into those lines. The Hardy ram behind them is Ramses.
The upper picture is very similar to one of my ewes.

She is Spahr Farm Lorraine (Linda renamed her Boots because she already has a Lorraine) whose dam's mother was Halfmask, the ewe that came here from your place in '88. Halfmask's sire was Thaxton's Simeon, dam was Yakob-Tson Ruth. You and Luke Hardy have a talent for indentifying lines of sheep - guess it comes from all those years of experience.

As you all look at sheep if you see slipped eye patches, small almost irregular eye patches and LOTS of small patchs over the body it almost hollers out Hatch. Remember ALL Hatch stock for maybe 5 or 6 years [maybe not that many for close to it] came from the old Hatch ram Eder - and that threw literally 100s of Jacobs our there with the same genes - Ram over ewes, daughters, granddaughters, etc. - if that does not solidify a "look" then the poor old ram was weak to start with!!!!! He used ONLY EDER for several generations - brought them pretty much to the Cape - then the only sale around - and those sheep were scattered literally all over the US. He would bring in around 60 twice a year. And Luther and I bought, bought, bought. I love the look and still do. Just wished I would have had enough forethought to have kept them relatively pure. Not Patrice and Vivian Moran are the only two people who have a fairly pure Hatch line - Vivian probably has the purest one.
