To me the American Jacob should fit the label "landrace", somewhere between primitive and unimproved. That is they should demonstrate functional traits for ease of survivability [ease of birth, flexible pelvis, moderate disease resistance, etc.] yet show a reasonably similar distinctive cosmetic [selected] traits. They should not have heavy fleeces and big rear ends. Regardless of micron count, they should have an open springy fleece. Most of the rest has been covered.
